For many vulnerable individuals in Port Harcourt and across Nigeria, the lack of safe, stable shelter is a critical challenge that exacerbates poverty and insecurity. Orphans, vulnerable children, and widows often face homelessness or live in precarious conditions, lacking the basic security needed to thrive.

Divine Benevolent Care Organization (DBCO) recognizes that providing a safe haven is the first step towards rebuilding lives and offering a foundation for a brighter future.

Providing Comprehensive Care in Our Orphanage

DBCO operates a dedicated and standard orphanage designed to provide a nurturing and secure environment for orphans and vulnerable children. Within the walls of the Divine Benevolent Care Orphanage, children receive more than just a roof over their heads; they gain access to comprehensive care that addresses their holistic needs. This includes:

Quality Education: Ensuring access to schooling to build a foundation for their future.
Healthcare: Providing necessary medical attention and health support.
Food and Nutrition: Meeting essential dietary needs for healthy growth and development.

Extending Support to Vulnerable Widows

Beyond our commitment to children, DBCO is also dedicated to providing shelter for ‘widows indeed’ – those who are particularly vulnerable, often having no place of abode or living in dwelling places that are dilapidated and in urgent need of refurbishment.

We understand the unique challenges faced by widows, who may lose their homes or lack the means to maintain them. DBCO is committed to continuing to provide shelter solutions for these deserving women, whether through direct housing support or assisting with necessary repairs and refurbishment, in both urban and rural communities.

Through these shelter initiatives, DBCO is not just constructing buildings; we are building homes, restoring dignity, and providing the safety and stability necessary for vulnerable individuals to rebuild their lives and find hope.
